Ajani Yahaya (24) of Mapo area of Ibadan, Oyo State has been arrested for raping an underaged girl.Instead of purchasing only the dry meat, popularly known as Tinko in Yoruba, that a 14-year-old girl (names withheld) was hawking for sale, he allegedly decided to get another service he was not offered by forcefully having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.
The girl, a secondary school student on holiday, was said to be living at Yemetu Adeoyo area of the city with her aunt whom she helps in hawking dry meat for sale.On getting to Mapo on the day of the incident, Crime Reports learnt that Yahaya asked the girl to bring her wares upstairs where he lived and the girl complied. But on getting to him, he allegedly used a handkerchief to cover her mouth and dragged her into his room.
According to the girl, “I tried to shout but my voice could not get far and no one heard me. He raised my skirt and forcefully removed my underpants, after which he had his way. After he finished, he used the handkerchief to clean my private part. As I was about to leave, he started begging me and offered me N500. When I refused, he shouted and threatened me so I collected it from him.Afraid of what might likely be the consequence of wiping her vulva region with a handkerchief, the girl reported what happened to her when she returned home, prompting her guardian to report the case at Mapo police station.The girl however said that Yahaya was not the one who deflowered her, as she had a boyfriend called Azeez with whom she used to have sex. But she maintained that the suspect forced himself on her.When interviewed by Crime Reports at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yahaya, an Ibadan indigene who fixes floor tiles, gave conflicting stories about what happened on that Sunday. At first, he denied seeing the girl on that particular day because he went to a party with his mother. Later, he admitted being at home. He also said he purchased dry meat from the girl but added that the girl must have told a lie against him because he did not give her the money she requested for.
“Khadijat told a lie against me that I forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. There was nothing between us apart from the fact that I used to buy dried meat from her. On that Sunday, my mother and I went out. I didn’t know what happened till the next day when police came to arrest me,” he said.When prodded, based on his statement to the police, Yahaya changed his former narration and said:
“That Sunday evening around 6p.m., it is true that I called the girl to sell dry meat for me. Before that day, we used to relate and usually joked with ourselves.“When I paid her, she told me that she misplaced money, and I should assist her. Unfortunately, I was broke, so I pleaded with her not to be angry, but she insisted that I should give her something. I angrily collected my change from her she also left angrily. Before God and man, I never had sex with her. I never wooed her either.”

This time, the men and women were asked to recall which photos they had seen previously and which were new.What did the researchers find?
The people who exercised remembered around 60 percent of the photos they had seen before, while those who didn’t exercise remembered only around 50 percent.Previous research in older men and women (50 to 85 years old) has found that a brief workout improves memory due to the exercise-induced release of the stress hormone norepinephrine. Rapper J Rule and R &B singer, Ashanti have always proved to be “the best pair” on stage serenading music lovers across the world. And last Wednesday’s performance was not different as the American superstars kept fun seekers, in Warri, Delta State, grooving throughout the night in the spirit of marking the nation’s 54th Independence anniversary.

The show, “Warri Again”, organised by Brownhill Event Centre, saw a galaxy of Nigerian artistes and comedians sharing the stage with the international artistes. It was indeed, a show of class and glamour as there was no dull moment while it lasted.
Despite the heavy downpour that almost marred the show, hordes of revellers continued swarming the event venue to catch a glimpse of the concert.Ace-comedian, Ali Baba and songstress, Omawumi, who anchored the show, were in their best elements, dishing out rib-cracking jokes. The show kicked off at about 10 pm, with Seyi Shay mounting the stage to thrill the quality audience with her electrifying performance.
Thereafter, reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Patoranking took the floor and rendered his wave-making single “Girlie O”, But when he sang “Alubarika”, the audience took to their heels as they danced to the rhythm of the song.Iyanya also thrilled the audience with sexy dance steps, just as the highlife musician, Flavour got a standing ovation after performing “Ada Ada”. Other artistes that gave good accounts of themselves were Daddy Showkey, Yemi Alade and Orisefemi.
But the turning point of the show was when Ja Rule and Ashanti appeared on stage. The two set the stage on fire with their freestyling to the beat of Ashanti’s chart-topping hit “Foolish.”Ashanti also had the crowd roaring with her sexual dance moves and dancehall whining. It has been more than 13 years since Ashanti’s single “Foolish” was released on her debut album, and the audience still goes wild as if it were still fresh.
Ja Rule stayed true to his rap and rhyme, while Ashanti gave her classic “Ashanti” R&B vocals on the chorus. While their performance lasted, the elated audience kept standing, shouting and hailing the artistes. They proved to their Warri fans that the dawn to dusk wait was not in vain...

Hajia Bola Shagaya is famous. According to Forbes, she is the 10th wealthiest woman in Africa. The socialite may not have been born into a wealthy home like most people are, so it is enough to say that her success story would not have been possible if she hasn’t struggled.
Hajia Bola Shagaya would be 55 years old on the 10th of October. She was born in the year 1959. 1. If your other half is suddenly spouting religious phrases like ‘I swear to Jesus’ or ‘God no’, then they may be trying to hard to cover something up.
2. Watch their hands. Are they trying to make them disappear, possibly into their pockets, behind their backs or under their legs? If yes, this could be a sign that they’re hiding more than just their palms.
3. A common misconception about cheats and liars is that they can’t provide detail about their lie, but actually, they may go into too much detail. If they can’t stop talking and appear to be saying things as they occur to them, it might be that it’s all fabricated.
4. You know your partner best. Are they finding it more difficult than usual to maintain eye contact? Then they could be feeling guilty. And if they’ve fixed an unusually strong stare on your eyes, they could be doing so in an effort to try to control your opinion of them.
5. If there are noticeable pauses before they answer questions, they could be buying themselves time to think of a response. Equally, answering too soon and speaking quickly is an indication that they’re desperately trying to convince you of something.
6. If they repeat more than one of your questions, they’re probably using the time to think of a reasonable answer.
7. Are they suddenly being super honest but about something that you’re not actually asking them about?
